Bye to Nappies?

Guess what? I have great news!

Yesterday, I was loading the wash when Roo came to the door with shoulders all scrunched up, saying, "Mommy! I need to go to the toilet!"

I dropped everything and rushed him to the bathroom. As I hurriedly put his toilet seat in place and removed his diaper, I noticed that his shoulders were still up. Apparently, that was his way of holding it. And he made it!!!

Hahaha! Only mothers I guess will understand the joy of seeing a little child successful in his toilet training. Actually with Roo, my attempts at toilet training were all futile. He has always refused to go to the toilet, and the few times he did go, nothing came out. So I've kind of given up and decided to take my friend's advice to just let him be, that he'll go when he's developmentally ready. And he did! In his own time. His own good time.

Me too, till now it's my problem how I'll train my son to use the pot when he wants to pee and popo :)I stopped coz it's useless,he still didn't understand what I want him to do.Just like you,I'll just wait till he knows how to use the pot.Good that your son know how to say when he wants to go to the toilet, hope it will continue.

By the way, thanks for dropping by at my blog.Hope to see u again. there.

Amor, thanks for the visit!

My son is actually kind of a late bloomer in potty training...most of his friends his age have been nappy-free for a while now. He's advanced in many other aspects...guess every child just develops in his own way, his own time. Just you wait, they say, it will come.

Verns, thanks! I was too excited I forgot all about the 'documenting' part! First thing I did was call his daddy to share the good news :D

congratulations! i know the feeling. but hey, why not buy a potty trainer for him, you know, a little pot so he could go there anytime he wants, his own universe, so there's no rush putting his toilet seat and all?

Analyse, thank you!

That potty trainer, I have one. Bought it even before my son could walk. But he likes it only for playing, not for pooping. :(

Thanks, Uncle Zherwin! Yup, I have this little seat too propped up above the adult seat, and that serves as my throne. Me, a king! King Roo! :D

congrats.. I know how happy you were when Roo finally asked for using the toilet seat.... just like you, I was surprised when Kurdi asked for it and from then on, we're nappy free!!! With Kavin I am not that as worried as I was with his Kuya, no toilet training needed... I'll just have to wait till he is ready...

our kisses to roo!!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!
I am so happy for you and Roo. I'm glad he finally asked for his toilet seat and get the hang of his nappy. I remember the day when Kurdi asked me to bring him to the toilet I was ecstatic, took lots of pictures and gave him his favorite sticker (though I am not sure if that was a good way of giving him a "reward", for me it was like an accomplishment without training him at all).

Congrats!!!
