Many Happy Returns (to me ;D)

When I was small, on my birthdays, I remember waking up to a bunch of lansones, among other presents, at the foot of my bed.  I remember jumping up and squealing with delight at the sight of my favorite fruit which I can eat to my heart's content only on my birth month.  My heart was content and happy, sharing that precious moment with my family who would gather around, share my lansones, and sing happy birthday to me.

No more of that.  No more lansones waiting for me to wake up.  No more mommy to celebrate my birthday with me.  My heart is heavy and extremely sad just spilling that thought out.

At the same time, my heart sings with joy just being able to wake up!  Not to a bunch of lansones (although I do miss the part of being with my family).  But to a shower of kisses from a smiling little Roo.  With his final smack, he declared in his sweetest voice, "I love you, Mommy!"  Then he hugged me tight and whispered, "You are special to me, Mommy!" (after a sec, he continued to explain in case I didn't get it, That's another way of saying, "I like you, mommy.")

Happy.  I am happy.  Happy birthday to me!

Flowers greeted me when I came out of the bedroom to start my day.   Surprise, surprise!  MY man gave me his birthday gift last night so I didn't expect anything else from him.  He must have gotten up really early to get them, and still be on time for work.   Thank God for MY wonderful man!  He sure made my morning as bright and as happy as old times.  

Now, I have to go and sing happy birthday with my boy.  He insists that I sing with him so I can "blow the flowers."  Haha!
